A Sacred Portrait

A Sacred Portrait is a composition about the idea of compassion. The text is obtained by combining fragments of the Magnificat and the Stabat Mater. The two texts narrate respectively the two extremes of Marian events: that of the annunciation and that of the crucifixion. These two moments are confused in a single image crystallized in a portrait of Mary, a portrait that not only consists of the events narrated in the Gospels but is also aware of their musical past.
